refurbishment of 19th century grand staircase comes "Highly Commended"
TFL International received a Highly Commended Award at the Premier Trophy Awards 2008 ceremony from the Painting and Decorating Association in London on June 6. John Chalker Design Director at TFL & Adrian Scott our decorating contractor attended the presentation at the Painter's Hall in the City of London. The award in the highly decorative category was for the restoration of the entrance hall and main staircase at Shrigley Hall near Macclesfield. The grade 2 listed building is now operated by Barcelo Hotels was a former monastery with dramatic domed entrance, remained open for the duration of the project, requiring much thought being given to guest and operational access. The highly decorative scheme enhanced the existing detailed interior with coordinating carpets, furniture and dressing. TFL are gaining a considerable reputation for our careful and thoughtful treatment of listed interiors to add to our well appreciated expertise in contemporary hotel interiors.
